Hi there!

I'm Andrew, and Talus where I write notes and share photographs from the places I've visited.

Most of the stories begin outdoors: in a mountain hut, beneath bad weather, pr on a trail that has gone on longer than expected. But the stories are rarely just about hiking. They are about hospitality, discomfort, memory, attention, ambition, loneliness, and the ways a landscape can rearrange how we see other people.

You might be wondering, what's talus? Talus is the slope of broken rock that gathers below a cliff. Its the stuff that is formed gradually by weather, gravity, and time. No single stone makes a talus field. It emerges from countless small pieces, each insignificant on its own but meaningful together.

That felt like a fitting name for this archive. These notes aren't chapters in a larger argument or steps toward a particular conclusion. They're individual observations, trips, conversations, and moments of attention that, over time, begin to form something larger than any one experience.

There is no content calendar, algorithmic strategy, or promise that every journey will produce a lesson. Just writing about what I notice along the way.

Thanks for being here.
